Following is an email announcing the June 30, 2025 reopening of the renovated Poughkeepsie Social Security Administration (SSA) building, followed by a Google map of its location (new entrance on Academy Street).

I am writing to inform you about an important change regarding the Social Security Administration office in Poughkeepsie, NY.

We are pleased to announce that the Poughkeepsie Social Security Office will reopen on Monday, June 30, 2025. The newly renovated office is a modern facility aimed at better serving the public. The public entrance is now located at 4 Academy Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, around the corner from its former entrance.

In preparation for the move, the office will be closed for in-person services on Friday June 27, 2025. The staff will be available by phone at 877-405-6747 during the transition, and full in person services will resume on Monday June 30, 2025.

Customers are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance to minimize wait times and ensure prompt service. We also continue to recommend using our online services at www.ssa.gov, which is the fastest and most convenient way to conduct business with Social Security.
