- AJ's Airport Runs and Car Rides - https://www.ajsairportruns.com/ - 845-706-7810 (Despite the business name, AJ no longer provides trips to NYC boroughs/airports. He asks that everyone schedules any rides through his website.)
Uber/Lyft
Uber and Lyft do operate in the Saugerties area but this being a rural area, the general consensus (beginning of 2024) is that their service is sketchy, especially on weekends. Taxis are generally more reliable here.

- Hertz - 790 Ulster Avenue, Kingston 12401 - phone 845-338-6929 - open Mon-Fri 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 9 to noon on Saturday.
Ulster County Bus Service
Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) serves Saugerties, and can help you get to Woodstock and Kingston, including the Hudson Valley Mall and other nearby malls. Routes, schedules and fares can be found on their website.
Bus from/to New York City and Other Locales

Trailways Bus service. For fare information call 1-800-858-8555 $60 round trip, $35 one way. Trailways will pick up and discharge passengers at the new NYS DOT Park & Ride lot on Route 32 across from the NYS Thruway ramp. Passengers can purchase tickets at the Sunoco station on Route 32 just north of the Thruway ramp or online at https://trailways.com/.
Nearby Train Service
There are 2 main choices for passenger train service:
- Amtrak. For planning a trip, you can use this link. A tip, if you want to travel between Rhinecliff (closest Amtrak station to Saugerties ... ) and NY Penn Station (now called the Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station), the codes are RHI and NYP respectively.
- Metro North. Using the frequent destination by train from this area -- New York City -- you can start a trip to New York City at the Poughkeepsie Metro North Station. Poughkeepsie is a terminus for the service running to Harlem and Grand Central Station. For planning a trip, you can use this link.
Airports nearest to Saugerties
- Stewart (Newburgh) International Airport is 46.5 miles from Saugerties. As you can see on this Google map, the drive is mostly a straight shot up the New York State Thruway. Saugerties is at Exit 20 and Newburgh is Exit 17.
- Albany Airport is 54.1 miles from Saugerties. This Google map shows that the drive is a straight shot up or down the New York State Thruway.
