Bring them and their repair team your broken and beloved (but clean) items for repair, for free.   The volunteers serve at multiple Repair Cafés and specialize in the areas of:

  • Mechanical and electrical
  • Textile
  • Sewing and mending
  • Sewing machine repair
  • Computer repair
  • Jewelry repair
  • Wood repair
  • Gluing
  • and other areas as needed and available.

If you have questions, are interested in volunteering, or want to know if a specific repair specialist will be at our next event, email us at rcsaugerties@gmail.com.

The Saugerties Repair Café has a website.  Click here to access it.

The Saugerties Repair Café has a Facebook page, as well.  Click here to access it.

Below are some photos, courtesy of Jacquelyn and some Repair Cafe pages, to give you a visual sense of what types of repairs take place.

And at the bottom of this page is a follow-up email, from Jacquelyn, with information about the first café held June 1st.  It includes a list of sponsors, some information about items left behind, and a look ahead to future café sessions.

June 6, 2024

Greetings,

To those of you who attended our very first Saugerties Repair Cafe, THANK YOU!   We had 62 guests that brought dozens of items to be repaired.  Below is some helpful information as well as photos from the event!

VOLUNTEER REPAIR FIXERS
If you would like to volunteer to be a fixer or know someone who would, please contact us.  We need fixers in all areas, but especially jewelry, wood, electrical/mechanical, knife sharpening, and scissor sharpening.  We really want to build and fill our list with skilled local persons.
