2024 Tentative Roll
The Town of Saugerties has been committed to maintaining assessments at 100% of market value since completely reassessing properties in 2010. To accomplish this, my office must do what is called trending, which is comparing sales prices to assessed values. When a difference is found, assessments are adjusted to maintain 100%.
For the 2024 assessment roll, the trending required an increase in assessed values for virtually all taxable properties.
The trends in the real estate market were similar to last year, with the most of residential properties assessments were increased by approximately 14%.
This had NO IMPACT ON YOUR PROPERTY TAXES; your taxes should be the same as if no trending took place.
THE DATE FOR THE 2024 GRIEVANCE DAY FOR THE TOWN OF SAUGERTIES IS MAY 28, 2024.
