lifespringbizad1.jpgLifespring: Saugerties Adult Learning Community, is a town-sponsored lifetime learning program that is open to retired, semi-retired and other adults.  It offers learners the opportunity to take daytime classes on Mondays via Zoom and Wednesdays in person,  during the six-week fall and spring semesters.  Courses are offered in a variety of subjects: history, current events, literature, the arts, and the social and physical sciences.  Additionally, there is often a Performance Series during the semester as well as winter presentations and special events.  There are no grades or tests, no academic pressure.

During each six-week semester, participants are able to stimulate their minds, challenge themselves in new areas, and meet other people interested in lifetime learning.  While taking classes and exploring new and old interests, members may also enjoy interacting with the friendly learning community created among the students.

Registration for Lifespring memberships begins on or about August 1st of each year, with the academic/membership year running from August 1 through July 31.  The Fall semester is in session for six weeks, usually from early October into November, while the six-week spring semester runs from mid or late April through May.   Please note the section entitled  “Membership: Frequently Asked Questions” on the Lifespring website.   Lifespring makes every effort to take in as many members as space and resources will permit.  Membership is for a full year.

In-person classes are held in rented space at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation (WJC) on the Glasco Turnpike just north of its intersection with Route 212.  Plenty of parking is available and classrooms are accessible to people with disabilities.
