On December 7, 2024, Saugerties American Legion Post 72 and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5034 provided a joint Honor Guard for Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
The days events were under the leadership of Commander Marck Webster Legion Post 72 and Commander Arin VandeMark, VFW Post 5034 and Honor Guard Captain Warren Whitaker.
We remember December 7th as an event that changed the course of history and altered America’s destiny. On this infamous day more than 3,500 were left dead or wounded, 21 ships were sunk or damaged and more than 340 aircraft were damaged or destroyed. Let us never forget the importance of remembering and paying tribute to those who were at Pearl Harbor on that fateful day and honoring all the veterans who served in World War Two.
