June 2025 Energy Supply Change

June 2025 Energy Supply Change

Dear Residents,

The CCA renewable electricity supply contract through Hudson Valley Community Power (HVCP) will end after June.  As always, you have the right to select a new QR Code for June 2025.webpelectricity supply offer from the many available to Central Hudson customers (see below for link).  If you do not select a supplier, you will be automatically defaulted back to Central Hudson basic service beginning in July.  In either case, there will be no interruption in service.

Here are some recommendations on how you can continue to support clean energy as well as a reminder regarding settlement award payments.

  • Support clean energy

Option 1: Subscribe to a community solar project through Hudson Valley Community Power and save up to 10% on your electricity bill.  Guaranteed savings through bill credits for supporting solar.  Enrollment is free and only takes a few minutes.  Scan QR the QR code on the right or visit https://solar.nexamp.com/hudson-valley

Option 2: Select another Energy Services Company (ESCO).  Several ESCOs offer renewable supply options.  Active supply offers can be found here: https://documents/dps.ny.gov/PTC/home/home

You can do both!  Your community solar subscription will not affect your relationship with your utility or electricity supplier; you can do both at the same time.

  • Cash your settlement checks by July 17
Eligible HVCP program participants who have not yet cashed their checks for the settlement award payment (mailed April 18) - Town of Saugerties, et. al., v. Columbia Utilities Power, LLC, et. al. - must do so by July 17.  Reminder: postcards will soon arrive in the mail.  Missing check?  Contact the Settlement Administrator at 844-804-4105

If you're currently enrolled in the HVCP CCA program, you should have received a letter from the program's electricity supplier, Direct Energy Services, LLC.  Again, if you do not act, your account will automatically switch to Central Hudson standard electricity supply offering in July.  For questions about the letter, contact Direct Energy Services, LLC at 866-968-8065.

We appreciate your participation in the CCA program and encourage you to explore clean energy options moving forward.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the HVCP team at 845-859-9099.
