Kevin Pendergast, from the Saugerties American Legion Post 72 expresses the Post's sincere thanks to the sponsors (the Saugerties Lions Club, the Kiwanis Club of Saugerties, the Sons of American Legion Squadron 72, VFW Post 5034 and Elks Lodge # 2574) for their continued support for American Legion Post 72's Boys State Program.

The support enabled the American Legion to send 5 students from the Saugerties High School junior class to this year's program.
The boys departed this past Friday morning for Morrisville College for a week-long civics class on government. They’ll be graduating Wednesday (tomorrow), and then heading home to join us for our annual Saugerties July 4th parade.

Once again, our thanks for giving these students this great educational opportunity.

(Patrick Sheehan is a Kingston participant, and chose to ride on the Saugerties bus, based on his acquaintance with a number of Saugerties students.)
