Plans for Saugerties’ first-ever Earth Day Week are underway, thanks to a committee of volunteers who have been meeting since February to plan a series of immersive experiences, speakers, performances, and more.
The week-long event, scheduled for April 22-27, is designed for all ages and aims to educate and inspire individual and collective actions toward a more sustainable Saugerties and world.
The kick-off event will take place on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22, at 6 p.m. at The Orpheum, featuring local professors, ecologists, and advocates, including Eli Dueker, Mark Vian, and Jeremy Cherson. Earlier in the day, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., families can join interactive activities at the Tidewater Center (61 East Bridge Street), including fishing and bio-remediating art.
